Adaptação chilena da Escala de Bem-estar do Adolescente EPOCH

Resumo

Atualmente é crescente o interesse pela promoção do bem-estar em contextos educacionais, o que tem levado diversos autores a propor modelos de avaliação do bem-estar e a criação de instrumentos nesta linha. Um dos instrumentos utilizados para avaliar o bem-estar do adolescente é a escala EPOCH, baseada no modelo PERMA e que compreende as dimensões de engagement, conectividade, felicidade, otimismo e perseverança. A presente pesquisa teve como objetivo adaptar a Escala de Bem-estar do Adolescente EPOCH elaborada por Peggy Kern, Lizbeth Benson, Elizabeth A. Steinberg e Laurence Steinberg (2016). Foram coletados dados de 1.558 alunos entre 11 e 18 anos de idade, pertencentes a quatro estabelecimentos de ensino na região de Antofagasta, Chile. Foi estudada a capacidade discriminatória dos itens, bem como a estrutura fatorial do instrumento. Os resultados obtidos mostram um comportamento psicométrico aceitável e uma estrutura semelhante à proposta pelos autores. Podemos concluir que a escala EPOCH é uma ferramenta útil para a avaliação do Bem-estar de Adolescentes, em contextos educativos chilenos.
